Winter Ball: Dress Shopping[Open] « Thread Started on Apr 3, 2007, 10:58am »
The Winter Dance was coming up and Blyss, eager to go, was out searching for a dress. That morning she had found a poster on the notice board advertising it and the same with a letter from the school administrators had been attached and slipped under the door to her dorm.
Walking slowly into ‘Parlotta Fashion’, which was situated in the Mall, she found the shop almost empty, just a couple of people browsing the racks. Looking around at all the labelled areas, she eventually found one marked ‘Prom Dresses’. That was exactly what she was looking for.
Gazing at each dress on turn, feeling each piece of silky material and staring at the ludicrous price on each, she decided she wanted a dress that no one else would have, to save her the embarrassment of turning up in a dress similar to someone else’s. Sighing, she pondered over which sort of dress to get.
Lile stepped toward the front of the boutique of sorts, a mini-map guide to the mall was soon shoved in her messy, over-stuffed, over-worn black messenger bag that was slung around her torso. She looked semi-decent, today, so as to not be turned away from shopping from this acursed dance; a pair of dark jeans and a light green-striped short-sleeved dress shirt that ended at about her hips, hair tied back in a ponytail and gelled, so it didn't look a wild mess.
She had decided that she wanted something green for this ball-thing; it was one of her favorite colors, after all. And she wanted something long, too, so that she didn't over-expose her skin. She had called her family, after receiving the notice of this dance, and her older sister was thrilled. "You pick out something nice, okay? Nothing too boyish for a dance, especially if you want to impress everyone." She told her.
So, she started browsing through the various dresses, trying to find something she could deem worthy of wearing, as she was rather picky about these sort of things. She had not an idea of Blyss, or anyone else for that matter; a pair of earbugs were plugged into her ears, wire running into her bag, so one could assume she was listening to music.
